The Serious Case General Issues Group sits beneath and reports to Peterborough Safeguarding Children Board (PSCB). The work of PSCB is part of the wider context of Children’s Trust co-operation that aim to improve the overall well being (i.e. the five Every Child Matters outcomes) of all children in the local area
The overall purpose of the group is to ensure when a serious cae review is required that the panel and process is robust and clear.

The General Issues group will deliver the following objectives:
Develop procedures in line with Chapter 8, Working Together 2010
Monitor action plans generated by a serious case review
Respond to new guidance and initiatives, amending procedures as required

The chair of the General Issues group is also the Independent Chair of PSCB and will report to PSCB meeting.
The Chair may set up time limited task and finish groups as required and ask the General Issues Group to deliver on its objectives

Children’s Care
Health
Police
Representative Learning and Skills
CAFCASS
Legal Adviser
PSCB Business Manager

The Serious Case General Issue Group will meet three-monthly
Administrative support will be provided by the PSCB Administrator and the work of the group will be supported by the PSCB Business Manager
